Hanko Stamp Meets Inden!
Inden is a deer leather processing technique which is used on many items
such as wallets, handbags, stamp cases, sandal thongs, belts and the like. Deer
leather craft first appeared in Japanese history in the 5th century when
it was presented to the imperial family. Because of its soft and comfortable
feel to the skin as well as its strength and toughness; deer
leather became popular among warrior class and they used inden for parts of
their armor. But, it was in the 17th century when inden craft as we've come to know it
today was developed by Yushichi Uehara. Some of the striking features of inden is the
marriage between deer skin and lacquer called urushi which is widely
known to be used on wooden crafts, tableware as well as home furniture.

This traditional Japanese craftsmanship will add an extra elegant touch to
your contemporary hanko stamp. The leather also gives you a good
grip like no other gripping surface can to prevent the hand from sliding!
